Sew...sew ..sew!!

Had a weekend full of sewing today, i sewed 2 play-suits, one out of leather and the other out of a very thin nude cotton. Afterwards i found that i didnt wants to work with either of them,

the leather was waay thick, and the cotton was way to thin.

God i sound like Goldilocks!! hahah

so, i have 2 playsuits to show for my formative, but i want a very stiff cotton i think, in a very light pink/nude fabric.

They were also very horrible to sew, my sewing machine did not like them one bit!!

Valentines Day..

Well, its the 6th of February, and valentines day is in 8 days time!

Street Stopper!

So i went to London this weekend. And bought 2 lots of PVC and some nude/pink cotton to use for my play-suit. Quite a successful trip, was in and out within abut 3 hours!!

Spent about £80 on fabric =/

But when i was walking the streets of Oxford street i was looking at the women who were walking past too see if women did in fact wear underwear inspired clothing in the day time mixed with their casual clothes, as these would be my main consumer.

I found these too girls, one in Urban Outfitters, and one walking the street, who was actually looking for stylish women for her blog also. LOL

This was the women, who was a blogger looking for stylish women, she had fishnet tights on with long socks on over, it gave that seductive stockings look, and with her long black coat on it didnt look like she was wearing much else. She said she enjoyed pushing the bounderies of what is acceptable for day clothing. She liked other women looking at her, wishing they had the confidence to wear what she did.

I found this women in Urban Outfitters, she was shopping with her dad, which as i asked her if she didn't mind me taking a picture, her dad started laughing saying he was glad someone like her style because he thinks she looks like she gets dressed in the dark. Which made us laugh.

She was alot younger so she wore her tight/stockings as she had seen celebrities wearing the Henry Holland tights and wanted to copy their style.

As it was very early in london at the time, i didnt find many more women wearing underwear inspired clothing, but ill be back next weekend. Looking if i can find more!!

Agyness Deyn!!!

When looking at a model or celebrity to wear my collection i have found that Agyness dean would proberly be a better fit for a model. She has a quirky sense of style, and isnt afraid to ecpose flesh in the name of fashion. When she walks into a party everybody looks at her for style. She is the model muse for designer Henry Holland.

She can look like a delicate lady very easily, but can change into a punk, or looking like a man easily.

Tie me up bitch!

Iv been looking at dramatic images recently, of powerful women, or photographs of women loosing their power.. I'm finding it very interesting...

The sense of constriction and lack of freedom is the most powerfull things about these photos.

This is a very strong image!!! By using a gun bra she has alot of power over you, but the fact she is nearly nude makes us believe she should have less power and be more embarrassed. This is clearly not the case.

Rihannas new video - S&M has just been released and has caused mega controversy.

This is showing us how fetish clothing is becoming more mainstream and more into fashion.

Disappointing...

I got some marketing grades back today for a project i got. I didn't do as well as i would of liked. Compared to last year en i was getting A's and that.

It has dis-hearted me alot, and it has made me think really negatively that I'm not gunna do aswell in the subject as i first thought!! :(

Went into Fashion today to pick up some of my patters and to look through some of my fellow students work so i can see wear my can sit in comparison. And i was rather shocked, for the grade they had i didnt see much content to their work and they had only handed in 1 or 2 sketchbooks and some toiles. For what i handed in it made me believe that i deserved alot more. But i believe alot of it is politics.

Im off to London 2mro, fabric shopping for some final fabrics to make my collection out of, iv got another hand in on tuesday =/
